Visual development consists of everything related to artistic designs and is made up of three primary components: Characters, Layouts and Backgrounds. Also included in this process are the prop designs (basically anything that a character touches) as well as establishing the color palates for each design element. Once visual development is complete, the design elements are then composited to create what is known as a “set-up”.
